Lady Gaga is QUEEN.
Here is some good.
I first fell in love with him on North Shore. Later again as Khal Drogo, but even harder over the years while learning about the person he is. In this truly beautiful short, he inspires the type of love and appreciation we should all have for family, nature and living life to its fullest potential while finding ways to make the things you want and need co-exist. Jason Momoa has been and will continue to be my #1 crush. <3
Gaga has to be one of the most grounded and inspirational figures of my time. Everything she does - wild or vulnerable, she never forgets the importance of her role in life and how give back, what she has sacrificed and more importantly, where she came from.
Happy 68th birthday to my spirit human and to the gypsy that she was and still is today. Miss Stevie Nicks.
When you’re in NYC as much as I am (for work) and having formerly lived here - you’d think I’d know myself well enough by now and/or have learned the lesson that I should stop packing my suitcase full, because I always shop when I’m here. Last night’s results: 7 dresses and a kimono thing-a-majig. In my defense, three of these are Bonnaroo friendly. But my fav…the off-shoulder floral print, FTW. #fashion, AMIRITE?
As some of you may have heard, either from me or via my mom’s Facebook post, I was mugged right in front of my apartment while walking home from the Cubs game on Tuesday night at 10pm. I was sober, alone and approaching my gate when a car of about 4-5 men pulled out in front of me coming out of an alley. I walked around their car, not thinking too much of the situation when two men got out - one began running at full speed towards me while the other yelled from the car. I turned as he grabbed my bag that was on my shoulder and I had clutched in my right hand. He pulled me to the ground and drug me across the sidewalk until both straps broke off of my bag and ran off. After it was all said and done and a couple of scrapes and bruises I lost a bag, my wallet, a hoodie and my sense of security. A police report was filed, but they will never catch them. I’m telling you this because I walked (or ran) away from this situation practically physically unharmed. I have been very lucky having lived in the three biggest cities in the country on my own, as this could have gone so much worse. Over the last several months I have been thinking a lot about how precious life is as I watch friends and friends of friends battle life situations that I can’t imagine and fear one day I will. What happened to me is nowhere near on the scale as some of the things I have observed, but it was eye-opening. Life can change in a matter of seconds. And I don’t want to leave this world without the people I love knowing it. Tell the people you love just that. Tell them often and daily. If the universe should decide it’s time to part ways, you both know how the other felt. Be safe. Give love.❤️ Also, be aware of your surroundings. xo, Aft.
Arriving at the BBC Studios in London during the filming of Bertolt Brecht’s Baal, August 1981
Dave Grohl rules my heart.
So, last night I saw Wolfmother at the Metro in Chicago who never disappoint. But, these two girls who opened the show were fucking incredible. A drummer and a singer/guitar player who SLAYED. Deap Vally. Check them out.
I’m going to make Monday my b*tch. I’m going to make you Saturday, Monday morning! F*ck you, Monday.
Better than the original.
These three should always collaborate. Always. Forever.
